José Manuel Corona Gallaga

José Manuel Corona Gallaga is an associate in financial matters of Alcance Medios y Telecomunicaciones, S.A. de C.V. (AMyT); he is the responsible of the development, review, opinion and implementation of the financial planning in the company, and also in the financial matters in the integral consultancy given to the clients.  He is part of the work team of AMyT, since its establishment in May of 2008.


Mr. José Manuel Corona, during his professional career of over than 25 years has occupied several positions in the financial and administrative areas in the companies of the private initiative.


In 1981 he was the general accountant of Restaurantes Vips, of the Grupo Aurrera (acquired by Walmart de México). Talking about the Restaurant Industry, in 1985 he was deputy director of Finance and Administration in the Mexican Corporation of Restaurants. In 1989, he made a raid into the Sector of Means and Telecommunications as director of finance and administration of MVS Multivision, company that started operations that year.


In 1997 he started to work in the area of finance and administration of Sky, Satellite Television of Grupo Televisa that in that time was headed by the general director Mr. Jorge Álvarez Hoth, who is today the president of Grupo Alcance. In 1999, he was working for Grupo Televisa as director of strategic planning in the launching of Esmas.com website.


In April of 2001, he got involved in the public service; he entered to the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT) of Mexico Federal Government. He had the position of coordinator of decentralized organizations of the Sub-Secretariat of Communications. He took part in the plans and implementation of the financial and operative restructuring of the Mexican Postal Service and of TELECOMM Telegraphs. He also participated in the project of the National System e-Mexico, as undersecretary of the Technical Committee of the trust. This Project conceived in the National Plan of Development from 2001 to 2006, reached its goals by providing digital satellite connectivity to more than 10,000 Digital Community Centres (DCC) in different locations of the country, principally in schools, health centres and social development centres.


Mr. José Manuel Corona is a Certified Public Accountant from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has a Master Degree in Administration (Organizations) of the Division of Postgraduate Studies of the School of Accountancy and Administration that also belongs to the UNAM. He was born in México, D.F. in 1960. He is married and has two children.
